The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek. From there, the trail leads you through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional Tamang villages, offering glimpses into the rural way of life in the Himalayas.

As you ascend higher into the mountains, you'll be treated to panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, the highest peak in the region, as well as other peaks like Langshisa Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Ganjala Peak. Along the way, you'll pass through charming villages like Lama Hotel, Mundu, and Kyanjin Gompa, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with friendly locals and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The highlight of the trek is reaching Kyanjin Gompa, a picturesque village situated at an altitude of approximately 3,870 meters. Here, you'll have time to explore the village, visit ancient monasteries, and soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

After exploring Kyanjin Gompa, the journey continues with a scenic descent back to Syabrubesi, where you'll bid farewell to the mountains before driving back to Kathmandu. Along the way, you'll have time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences you've had amidst the Himalayan landscape.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel in Thamel. Alt 1350m/4428ft.

Welcome to Kathmandu! After completing your arrival visa, our representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport. From that, a private vehicle will transport you to a hotel in Thamel, the city's popular tourist destination. We will see the Hindu temple known as Pashupatinath Temple, which is devoted to Lord Shiva and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along the route. Following your check-in, you are free to relax or take your time exploring Thamel's busy streets.

Day 02: Drive to Shyabrubesi or drive to Khanjim (2235m/7330ft). Distance to drive is 122km/76.25miles Shyabru Besi and drive to Khanjim 10km/6.25mile time is about 7/8 hour.

After having a warm breakfast at the hotel, we will drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (2235m/7330ft.) which is also known as the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The route will pass through the winding mountain roads, terraced fields, and picturesque villages, offering us breathtaking views of the Trishuli River and lush green hills. Upon arrival at Syabrubesi, we can take a rest and interact with the Tamang community or continue driving to Khanjim (10km), a small settlement at a higher altitude. Once we reach Khanjim we will take a shorter trek for panoramic views of the surrounding hills into a lodge and enjoy a warm meal and rest for the night. This takes roughly 7-8 hours total.

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel (2340m/7675ft). Trek time is about 5 hour.

We will embark on our trek to Lama Hotel (2340m/7675ft) that takes approximately 5 hours from Khanjim. The journey offers us beautiful rhododendron forests alongside the Langtang River, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. As we continue our trek, we will pass through the beautiful Tamang villages where we can see their culture and lifestyle. Once we reach Lama Hotel, we will check into a lodge, where we can relax along with a serene view of mountains.

Day 04: Trek to Langtang Village (3370m/11053ft). Trek time is about 7 hour.

Our trek will begin to Langtang Village (3370m/11053ft) and will take about 7 hour after having breakfast at Lama Hotel. The trek ascends through a scenic landscape dotted with yak pastures and traditional stone houses along with breathtaking views of the Langtang Liyun peak and surrounding mountains. On the way, we can take some rest to enjoy the stunning views of the beautiful scenery. Once we reach Langtang village, we will check into a lodge before exploring the surrounding area where we can interact with local Tamang people.

Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3850m/12628ft). Trek time is about 4 hour.

After breakfast, we will set off on a trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3850m/12628ft), with an estimated trekking time that takes about 4 hours. The route will take us through beautiful alpine landscapes, stunning views of the surrounding peaks including Langtang Lirung. As we continue our trek, we will cross through a vibrant yak pasture along with the serene atmosphere of the mountains. Upon arrival in Kyanjin Gompa, we will explore the monastery along with breathtaking views of the nearby glaciers and peaks. Then we will settle into lodge where we can enjoy the stunning Himalayan scenery.

Day 06: Explore day at Kyamjin Gompa. Hike to Kyamjin Ri (4400m/14432ft).  Hike to Kyamjin takes 3/4 hour.

We will spend our day exploring Kyanjin Gompa. After having a warm breakfast to refuel for the adventures ahead, we will embark on a hike to Kyamjin Ri (4400m/14432ft) that takes about 3-4 hours. The route offers us panoramic views of the Langtang Valley and the majestic peaks. As we continue our journey, we will be rewarded with stunning vistas of glaciers along with towering mountains. We will return to Kyanjin Gompa where we can visit the local monastery, interact with the Tamang community to learn about their culture.  

Day 07: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2340m/7675ft). Trek time is about 6/7 hour.

After a warm breakfast at Kyamjin, we will descend back to Lama Hotel (2340m/7675ft) that takes approximately 6-7 hours. This route will lead us through charming villages, and lush forests, giving us an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the Langtang Valley. As we move down, we can take a small break to enjoy the beauty of nature. Then we will check in to the lodge after reaching Lama Hotel where we can relax, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the trek.

Day 08: Trek to Shyabru Besi (1530m/5018ft). Trek time is about 6 hour. 

We will descend back to Shyabrubesi (1530m/5018ft) with an estimated trekking time of about 6 hour. This route will give us the opportunity through terraced fields and lush green forest to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the region along with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. As we continue to weigh down, we might encounter local villagers and wildlife. Once we reach Shyabrubesi, we will check into a lodge where we can relax and refresh after the day’s trek.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. Drive time is about 7 hour.

After warm breakfast in Shyabrubesi, we will begin our drive back to Kathmandu, which takes approximately 7 hours. The trail will lead us through scenic landscapes, charming villages and winding roads. As we continue, we will pass alongside the Trishuli River before reaching to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will transfer to hotel, where we can relax and unwind after the long drive.

Day 10: Departure

This is the time to get preparing to leave Kathmandu.  You are subsequently taken to Tribhuvan International Airport in preparation for your next flight. As you depart, remember to consider the amazing adventures, stunning scenery, and priceless memories created throughout your Himalayan journey. Have a safe trip!
