Embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Spanning 16 days, this epic adventure takes you through a diverse range of environments, from lush subtropical valleys to high-altitude desert plateaus, offering an unparalleled experience of the Himalayas.
The Annapurna Circuit is renowned for its stunning scenery, diverse culture, and challenging yet rewarding trekking trails. As you traverse ancient trade routes and mountain passes, you'll be surrounded by towering peaks, including Annapurna II (7,937m), Manaslu (8,163m), and Dhaulagiri (8,167m), among others.
The journey begins in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, where you'll soak in the rich cultural heritage of Nepal before heading to the trailhead in Besisahar. From there, the trek takes you through picturesque villages inhabited by diverse ethnic groups, including Gurungs, Thakalis, and Manangis, each with their own unique traditions and customs.
As you ascend into the mountains, you'll pass through lush forests of rhododendron and oak, cross roaring rivers on suspension bridges, and marvel at cascading waterfalls and terraced fields clinging to steep hillsides. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to visit ancient monasteries, Buddhist stupas, and traditional tea houses, gaining insight into the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416m), one of the highest mountain passes in the world. The ascent is challenging but immensely rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys stretching out as far as the eye can see.
From the pass, the trail descends into the arid landscapes of the Mustang region, where you'll encounter dramatic cliffs, barren hills, and ancient cave dwellings. Finally, the trek concludes in the picturesque village of Nayapul, where you'll bid farewell to the mountains before returning to Kathmandu for a well-deserved rest.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu.
Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon arrival at Tribuvan International Airport, you have to take stamp of arrival visa in the airport which might take an hour. You will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. On the way, you will catch a glimpse of the Hindu temple- Pashupatinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Once you arrive at your hotel, you can relax and prepare yourself for upcoming days ahead.
Day 02: Drive to Bandipur (1344m/4406ft). Bandipur is 132km/82.5mile. Drive is 5 hour.
After having breakfast, we will drive go Bandipur (1344m/4406ft.) which takes about 5 hours. Bandipur is a hilltop town where we can see Newari- culture that are well- preserved. On the journey, we will pass through diverse landscapes, bustling towns, and serene countryside. The drive offers glimpse of the Trishuli River, popular for rafting as well as distant views of the Himalayan foothills. Upon arriving in Bandipur, we will check in to hotel. There we will see the charming town offering panoramic views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Langtang ranges. Besides that we can also explore the traffic-free main square, visit some temple – Khadga Devi Temple, Bindabasini Temple, and a famous farm- the Silk Farm.
Day 03: Drive to Chame (2670m/8757ft). Drive time is 5 hour.
Having a peaceful night in Bandipur, we will begin our drive to Chame (2670m/8757 ft.), districts headquarters of Manang as well as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit. The journey will takes approximately 5 hours. We will first descend to Dumre, leaving Bandipur before turning north towards Besisahar. Once we reach Besisahar, we follow the Marshyangdi River, passing through terraced fields, charming villages and dense forests. As we gain altitude, the landscape will change from lush green to pine forests and snow-capped peaks. On the route, we will pass through villages where each offer glimpses into the rich Tibetan-influenced culture of the region. Also, this drive offer us a stunning views of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu. Upon arrival in Chame, we will check into our lodge where we will take rest. In Chames, we witness the traditional Buddhist monasteries, fluttering prayer flags, and breathtaking views of Annapurna II. Also, we can take relax in natural hot springs that will soothe our muscles after a long journey.
Day 04: Trek to Upper Pisang (3300m/10824ft). Trek time is 6/7 hour.
After having an early breakfast in Chame, we will begin our trek towards Upper Pisang (3300m/10824ft.) that takes approximately 6-7 hours. On the route, we will ascend through dense pine forests, crossing suspension bridges over the Marshyangdi River. We will pass through Bhratang (2,850m), a small settlement which was once used as an apple orchard. Then cross Dhikur Pokhari (3,060m) where we can see the sight of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak dominates the horizon creating an awesome backdrop. Then we will ascend to Upper Pisang, known for the traditional Tibetan- style stone villages, ancient monasteries, and Buddhist fluttering prayer flags. This place also offers panoramic views compared to Lower Pisang. Once we reach to Upper Pisang, we will settle in teahouse and explore the village.
Day 05: Trek to Manang (3540m/11328ft). Trek time is 7/8 hour.
This is our challenging day of our trek to Manang (3540m/ 11328ft.) from Upper Pisang, gaining significant altitude. We will take a steep uphill climb to Ghyaru (3,670m), a traditional Tibetan-style village with ancient monastery and stone houses. This trek offers us stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range. Then, we will trek through Ngawal (3,660m), another beautiful village with prayer wheels and Mani walls. From there, we will descend towards Braga (3,470m) a home of the oldest region and most significant Buddhist monasteries. After that we take a short rest, we will continue to the final destination to Manang, a vibrant mountain country. Upon arriving in Manang, we will check into a tea house where we will take a rest and then explore the town.
Day 06: Excursion day at Manang for acclimatization. Optional hike to Ice Lake (4800m/15744ft). It is 3 hour hike up from Manang. Arrange pack lunch for Ice lake hike.
Or, Walking around Manang and Gangapurna Lake.
This is our acclimation day. In order to reduce the risk of altitude sickness we will spend our day in Manang. Instead of remaining idle, we will take it as an opportunity to explore the surrounding area with optional hikes. This hike will help our bodies adapt to the thinner air. There is two options for the day:
1. Hike to Ice Lake (4800m/15744ft) that takes about 3 hours from Manage. This is quite challenging as we have to take a morning hike so that we can witness the breathtaking alpine lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. We will also see the spectacular views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. Once we reach the lake, we will take a time to enjoy the serene beauty of this high-altitude wonder.
Or.
2. Explore Manage village. And take a short hike to Gangapurna Lake, known as turquoise glacial lake where we can see the breathtaking mountain views. Besides that, we can also visit ancient monasteries.
Day 07: Trek to Yak Kharka (4018m/13179ft). Trek time is 5 hour.
After a restful acclimatization day in Manang, we will continue our journey toward Yak Kharka (4018 m/13179ft.) that takes approximately 5 hour. We will pass through Tengi (3,600m) and follow the Jarsang Khola. As we move forward, the landscape transitions from lush valleys to barren alpine meadows, where we can see yaks. Then we will pass through Gusang (3,920m), a small settlement that offer breathtaking views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and Chulu Peaks. Upon reaching Yak Kharka, we will settle into a tea house where we enjoy the peaceful surroundings and stunning mountain vistas.
Day 08: Trek to High Camp (4600m/15088ft). Trek time is 5 hour.
We will leave Yak Kharka and continue to trek toward High Camp (4600m/15088ft) that takes 5-hour, moving through rugged terrain and steadily gaining altitude. The route leads to Thorong Phedi passing through narrow paths along rocky cliffs and landslide-prone areas that require a careful footing. As we move forward, the vegetation becomes sparse along with breathtaking views of Thorong Peak, Gundang, and Khatungkang dominating the horizon. Upon arrival in High Camp we settle into a teahouse and take rest.
Day 09: Trek to Muktinath (3800m/12464ft) Via THORONG-LA Pass (5416m/17764ft). Trek time is 7/8 hour. Climbing up to THORONG-LA Pass with a stunning panorama over prestigious summits rising above 6000m/19680ft.
This is our second challenging day of our trek, we will began from High Camp to Throng –La Pass (5416m/17764 ft.) which is the highest point of our journey. This trek takes approximately 3-4 hours due to the high altitude and icy winds. As we reach the summit, we can witness the breathtaking panoramic view of snow-covered peaks – Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges rising above (6000m/19680ft.). Then, we begin the long descent towards Muktinath (3,800m), a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. After 7 to 8 hours of trekking, we finally reach Muktinath, where we will check in to lodge and have the opportunity to visit the Muktinath Temple, famous for its eternal flame and 108 sacred water spouts, before enjoying a rest.
Day 10: Drive to Jomsom (2710m/8888ft) via Kagbeni, Thini village, and Dhumba Lake.
We will leave Muktinath after having a warm breakfast and embark on a scenic drive to Jomsom (2,710m/8888ft.) passing through naturally and culturally significant locations in the Lower Mustang region. This route takes us through Kagbeni (2,804m) and serves as the gateway to Upper Mustang. Kagbeni offers stunning views of the Kali Gandaki River valley, then we will visit Thini village which is known as the oldest settlement in the Mustang. Thini village offers panoramic views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri. Upon arrival in Dhumba lake which is a beautiful turquoise glacial lake that offers a peaceful moment before reaching Jomsom. Once we reach, we will check into a lodge enjoying the view of a charming village and breathtaking mountain scenery.
Day 11: Drive to Tatopani (1190m/3902ft). Tatopani is natural hot-spring, where you can rest and relax. Drive is via Marfa village.
After having a warm breakfast, we will leave Jomsom and embark on a scenic drive to Tatopani (190m/3902ft.) that takes through the diverse landscapes of the Kali Gandaki valley. Marpha Village (2,650m) will be our first stop which is famous for its whitewashed houses, narrow stone-paved alleys, and thriving apple orchards. We will continue our descent, passing through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. After several hours of driving, we will reach Tatopani, known for its natural hot spring where we can soak in the warm and mineral- rich water for relaxation.
Day 12: Drive to Pokhara (820m/2624ft).
We will leave Tatopani and begin our drive to Pokhara (820m, /2624 ft.) descending further into the lush mid-hills of Nepal. The drive follows the Kali Gandaki River, passing through picture square villages, terraced fields, and dense forest. We will pass through Beni where the Kali Gandaki and Myagdi Rivers meet, marking the transition from the high Himalayas to the lower hills. As our drive continues we will witness the stunning views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri in the distance. After several hours, we will reach Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city, where we will stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 13: R&R in Pokhara.
This is our relaxation and rest day. So, today is all about enjoying the peaceful vibe of Pokhara. After having a breakfast with mountain views we can walk along the Phewa Lake or get massage or spa treatment to relive sore muscles. Besides that, we can also visit Davis Falls & Gupteshwor Cave, Mahendra Cave, Shanti Stupa, and many more. We can chill at a lakeside café with mountain views. And, if feel like going out for live music and drinks there are many places to visit in evening.
Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu.
After a refreshing stay in Pokhara, we will take a flight back to Kathmandu that will take about 25 minutes. Once we reach Kathmandu, we will check into our hotel. Depending on our energy level we can either rest at a hotel or explore nearby Thamel markets.
Day 15: Departure.
This is the final day of our journey through the Himalayas and Kathmandu valley. After checking your flight details we will ensure you leave for the airport at least 3 hours before departure
